Bandung Learnings: How Artists Are Building Black-Asian Solidarity in NYC

Thursday, February 8, 2024
6 – 8PM

Asian American Arts Alliance (A4) and Museum of Contemporary Diasporan Arts (MoCADA) invite you to join the second cohort of Bandung Residents for a celebration, discussion, and community gathering.

In 2023, 11 artists/organizers participated in a four-month-long hybrid program consisting of self-directed and group learning exchanges. The program introduced Residents to community leaders embedded in social justice work, centered on the historical and contemporary issues faced by AAPI and Black communities, while enabling the deepening of each Resident’s relationship with themselves, their practice, other cohort members, and community members.

This gathering is an opportunity to hear from the Residents about their projects, learnings, and experience in the program. The discussion will take a panel format with time for Q&A, followed by a reception.

Small bites and drinks will be provided.
This event is FREE and open to the public.
RSVP required by Feb 6. When the event sells out, you can join the waitlist! We will email you if space opens up.

The 2023 Bandung Residents are:
Anooj Bhandari • Bryan Hahn • Kai Naima Williams • Lehna Huie • Louise Yeung • Malaika Temba • Margaret Rhee • Suhyun Choi • Dana Davenport • Sunnie Liu •
Tiffany Diane Tso

This event will be recorded and posted on A4’s YouTube channel after the event.
